Welcome to your Health Space where you will find exercises that allow you to practice mindfulness in relation to your physical health, such as eating and exercise. You can complete these exercises at home or at school, during homegroup, recess or lunchtime.

activity one

Have a go at some yoga! Practicing yoga has many physical and mental health benefits, such as building muscle strength, improving your posture and flexibility, lowering blood pressure, increasing self-esteem and encouraging self care. The video below takes 30 minutes to complete and was made specifically for teenagers. Yoga is fun to practice in a group, so try it during lunchtime with a group of friends, or at home with your family. Don't forget to ask someone to take a photo of you in your Downward Dog and send it to us in the feedback section!

activity two

This activity will look at mindful eating. You can try it with any food, at any time. How often do you really pay attention to what you are eating, how it feels in your hand, how it smells, how it feels in your mouth and how it tastes? Listen to the recording below to guide you through the exercise. Remember that you can also practice this at home with your family, and encourage mindful eating during dinner time by not using phones or technological devices at the table.
